Is a Volvo XC70 good for towing?

The Volvo XC70 (P24) is available with two four-cylinder engines – one diesel and one petrol – with front-wheel drive and two five-cylinder diesel engines that permanently deliver their power to all four wheels. The only gasoline engine XC70 T5, a direct injection with turbocharging and 2.0 litre displacement, is the most powerful model with 245 hp and a maximum torque of 350 Newton meters (Nm). The T5, which is exclusively equipped with an 8-Speed Automatic transmission, reaches 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h. The standard consumption is 6.7 l/100 km and CO2 emissions are 157 g/km.
The XC70 D4 also has a displacement of 2.0 litres and front-wheel drive. The bi-turbo diesel delivers 181 hp and has a torque of 400 Nm. That's enough for a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds and also a top speed of 210 km/h. The D4 is available with a 6-Speed Manual transmission or an eight-Speed Automatic. The standard consumption is 4.4 l/100 km or 4.8 l/100 km for the automatic model, the CO2 emissions are 115 or 127 g/km.
The XC70 D4 AWD also makes 181 hp, but from a displacement of 2.4 litres and five cylinders. The maximum torque of the bi-turbo is 400 Nm. With the 6-Speed Manual transmission, it takes 9.2 seconds for the standard sprint, with a 6-Speed Automatic three tenths of a second longer. The top speed is 205 km/h (automatic 200 km/h). The four-wheel drive has a standard consumption of 5.2 l/100 km or 5.8 l/100 km in the automatic version, the CO2 emissions are 137 or 153 g/km.
The XC70 D5 AWD develops 220 hp and 440 Nm of torque from the same five-cylinder engine block. The model, which is exclusively equipped with a 6-Speed Automatic, reaches the 100 km/h mark after 8.2 seconds and has a maximum speed of 210 km/h. In terms of fuel consumption (5.8 l/100 km) and CO2 emissions (153 g/km), it is on par with the D4 AWD.
