Volvo EX90 Towing Capacity & Weight Limit

Volvo has been in the fully electric SUV market for a while now, with their compact SUV, the Volvo XC40 Recharge. However, they're taking things up a notch by offering their largest SUV, the 90, as a fully electric vehicle under the name EX90. While some may be thrilled about this development, the price tag may not bring the same joy to potential buyers.

Geely, the Chinese company that owns Volvo and Polestar, collaborated on developing a platform, resulting in the Polestar 3 and Volvo EX90 sharing comparable specifications. However, there are distinctions between the two vehicles. Despite sharing the same battery and motors, the Volvo EX90 is a larger, heavier vehicle than the Polestar 3, resulting in a shorter range and reduced efficiency. Additionally, both the Twin Motor and Performance versions of the EX90 share the same towing capacity as the Polestar 3, rated at 2,200 kg.

How much can a 2024 Volvo EX90 tow?

The 4,850-pound (2200kg) towing capability of the EX90 is comparable to that of the majority of midsize three-row rivals. A maximum driving range of 300 miles is also anticipated for the future EX90 production variant after a full charge.

How much can Volvo EX90 tow?

Every version of the EX90 will include all-wheel drive in addition to modern amenities like one-pedal drive, torque vectoring, and an astounding 4850-pound (2200kg) towing capacity.

Can a Volvo EX90 pull a caravan?

Yes as long as the caravan's weight is within the towing capacity of the Volvo EX90, this SUV is well-equipped to tow it.

Is the EX90 a good tow car?

Given the demand for additional EVs with respectable towing capacities, the Volvo EX90's realistic towing capability of 2,200 kg is unquestionably significant. It is less appealing than other electric SUVs on the market today, which provide better value for money, battery capacity, and range, due to its weight, inefficiency, and expensive price. Since the EX90 isn't slated to be introduced until early 2024, there aren't any video reviews of it yet. However, as soon as one is published, I'll link to it
